Position Description: 

<p>Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as an integral member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Operations, Finance and People is responsible for the development and implementation of All Out&rsquo;s financial management strategy and human resources strategy and contributes to the organization&rsquo;s overall strategic goals. &nbsp;The Director of Operations, Finance and People manages administrative and operational services, with an eye towards efficient processes that minimize time spent on operations/administration for our small staff.</p><p><br />This position manages the Operations and Marketing Associate as well as the bookkeeper. The position is ideally based in New York, with some flexibility to other cities along the &nbsp;Northeast Corridor or London, UK.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Finance</strong></p><ul><li>Lead and advise on all financial matters for the organization.</li><li>Plan, coordinate and execute the annual budget process. Manage the budget throughout the year, ensuring spending is in line with budget and regularly monitor cash flow.</li><li>Sign off on all payments, manage monthly financial reports, and cash flow projections.</li><li>Manage the annual audit and 990 process, ensuring timely submission.</li><li>Write up financial narrative and budget for proposals and reports.</li><li>Point person for fiscal sponsors: Tides Foundation and UKFC.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Risk Management and Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Liaise with legal counsel on all legal matters.</li><li>Ensure legal status of the organization is maintained and timely submission of state and federal documents in the US, and when necessary, globally.</li><li>Monitor and manage donation systems including online credit card processing, paypal, and major donors.&nbsp;</li><li>Manage due diligence for All Out&rsquo;s Grassroots Giving (crowdfunding) program and process remittance of grants, to partner organizations in a &nbsp;timely manner. &nbsp;Track progress on all grants annually.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Human Resources</strong></p><ul><li>Working with the relevant line manager, play a lead role in Employee Relations issues.&nbsp;</li><li>Recruitment: manage and improve the recruitment process as needed, act as an advisor to hiring managers and provide support where needed.</li><li>Recommend appropriate compensation for employees and independent contractors and manage employment contracts.</li><li>Performance Reviews: Manage the Performance Review Process including 360s, annual development goals and timely annual reviews.</li><li>Staff Retreat: Plan and execute annual staff retreat.</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Organizational Strategy, Governance and Leadership</strong></p><ul><li>Contribute to the development and monitoring of All Out&rsquo;s strategy.&nbsp;</li><li>As a member of the leadership team, play a role in the overall management of the organization.</li><li>Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and lease negotiations.</li><li>Serve as the Secretary to the board; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at board of directors and committee meetings.</li><li>Lead on Board Finance Committee communication and meet monthly with the Board Treasurer to review monthly finances.</li></ul>


<ul><li>At least 7+ years of overall professional experience; ideally 5+ years of senior financial and operations management experience with a non-profit organization.</li><li>Extensive experience with nonprofit accounting, audits, grants management, and financial administration. International experience with multiple currencies a plus.</li><li>Ability to translate financial concepts to other management, members of the Board, and to effectively collaborate with program colleagues who may not have finance backgrounds.</li><li>Ideally, experience with personnel management, including hiring, supervision, and team development, with demonstrated ability to develop and foster a strong organizational culture.</li><li>Experience liaising with legal counsel and providing recommendations to management. Familiarity with relevant US legal structures for non-profit organizations.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to handle multiple work streams in a fast-paced, rapid response environment with the analytical and problem solving skills to employ flexibility when needed.</li><li>Able to work collaboratively and contribute to a team in a global and remote working environment.</li><li>Fluency in English, with a second language a plus.</li><li>Dedication to All Out&rsquo;s mission and strong desire to change the systems of inequality and discrimination for the LGBT+ community.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or any other.
