Position Description: 

Position Summary:The Manager of the Children, Youth and Families Program of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation will provide project specific leadership and management for the Children, Youth and Families, focused on programmatic work related to youth homelessness, school­based bullying, emotional well­being, child welfare and adoption, and family support.  This role will require engagement with national and local organizations with whom we partner to have greater impact in improving outcomes for LGBT youth and families. Responsibilities:

  • The Manager’s responsibilities are spread across several CYF initiatives including All Children – All Families (ACAF), the Youth Well­Being Project and Time to Thrive, and our emerging partnerships with PPFA and the True Colors Fund.
  • Managing on­line resources and learning tools for youth­serving agencies, and providing technical assistance and background information to professionals and agencies seeking our resources and expertise.
  • Managing the design, production and distribution of key CYF publications, including youth survey reports, issue briefs, best practice guides, etc.
  • Responsible for all CYF online surveys, contact management for these initiatives and the database infrastructure supporting these surveys and records.
  • Responsible for CYF web pages including writing web content, layout, design and searchable database functions.
  • Managing communications with CYF’s national advisory councils, partners organizations, and key stakeholders.
  • Creating comprehensive resources addressing LGBT family issues in coordination with other projects and departments at HRC.
  • Handling requests from members and organizations, including responding to calls/emails requesting assistance, information and resources.
  • Monitoring LGBT news related to children, youth and families, and working with social media team to highlight our relevant programmatic work.
  • Creating regular reports and project updates for members, staff, directors and board members on significant achievements or events.
  • Managing the CYF intern(s); including reviewing applicant materials, interviewing applicants and hiring intern and supervising intern throughout semester;
  • Representing the CYF at on­ and off­site events and conferences throughout the year (some travel required).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus three to five years of relevant work experience,
  • Educational background or professional experience in health care, family services and adoption, database administration, business administration, corporate social responsibility, human resources or political science a plus.
  • Moderate to expert computer skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Candidate must possess professional communication skills and be at ease communicating with business executives.
