What we do:OFC offers family support programs that serve LGBTQ parents/caregivers and their children; providing educational workshops, parent peer support groups, and community-building events and activities. OFC brings about institutional change in elementary schools and other settings that impact and involve families, making them more LGBTQ welcoming and inclusive. Finally, we engage in advocacy work to advance the equality of LGBTQ families in a variety of policy initiatives. These three areas of work inform and build on one another. Throughout our programs and our robust communication and outreach efforts, we value deepening our work with families and the communities in which they live. OFC is the premier LGBTQ family organization in California, bringing visibility and voice to the broader LGBTQ movement and the general public. OFC offers more than 150 individual programs every year. OFC has a membership of more than 750 families, directly serves approximately 3,000 people each year and reaches thousands more, including straight allies such as parents, service providers, and educators. OFC has a staff of twelve and an anticipated budget of $1.1 Million for fiscal year 2013-14. Our Family Coalition is seeking a part-time Development Manager to lead our growing development activities, with a focus on cultivating and growing our individual and corporate donor base. OFC is looking for a creative and energetic individual who is committed to our mission. The Development Manager will:· Serve as project manager for all development activities, except foundation grants· Manage individual and corporate donor relationships· Understand and manage donor database (NEON)· Work closely with Executive Director and Board of Directors in donor acquisition and cultivation· Oversee development calendar including managing deadlines and facilitating communication with donors· Work with Executive Director to set and track fundraising goals· Act as the staff point person on all development events, including annual fundraising dinner and smaller events· Plan and coordinate online and direct mail fundraising campaigns· Participate on team of writers to complete various aspects of direct appeals and other promotional materials· Review grant proposals and reports· Coordinate with our communications staff about website content and communications· Coordinate development strategies with leadership team to grow fundraising
· Minimum of 3 years of development experience with other transferrable experience· Ability to coordinate and produce design concepts, along with design and communications associate· Experience with donor management database· Experience developing and tracking strategic plans and with project management· Comfort and experience with public speaking and donor relations· Effective organizational and time management skills· Experience with social media and other forms of digital communication as development tools· Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects, often with tight deadlines, while addressing daily needs· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and with people from a variety of racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, gender, and generational backgrounds· Familiarity with LGBTQ issues and the Bay Area community· Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively· Experience building and participating in team based program planning and implementation· Passionate about fulfilling Our Family Coalition’s mission· Creative and strategic thinker with a good sense of humor· B.A. requiredThis position reports directly to the Executive Director. This is a .6FTE position with a competitive salary range based on the selected candidate’s experience. This position does not qualify for health benefits
